The Tree Stand Safety Awareness Foundation (TSAA) is a non-profit organization that focuses on tree stand safety and ensures that every hunter that uses a tree stand does so in a safe manner so that he or she comes home safe to their family and friends. The mission of the Tree Stand Safety Awareness Foundation is to significantly reduce tree stand incidents through promotion, education, and best practices.
As September was Tree Stand Safety Awareness Month, TSAA and S3DA teamed up to provide S3DA youth members a short quiz on the importance of Tree Stand Safety. Every youth member that completed the quiz was entered into a drawing for a chance to possibly win a full-body harness and lifeline or a haul line and Realtree tree stand equipment hanger courtesy of TSSA and their partners. With nearly 100 submissions, the two lucky winners announced were: Koye Russell from Precise Aim Archery Club in Tennessee and Avery Belt from Inside Out Archers of Kentucky.
Glen Mayhew, TSSA President states, “TSSA is proud to serve as a Conservation Member of the S3DA. We know that a significant percentage of the youth involved in S3DA either currently hunt or will become hunters as a result of their tremendous experiences in S3DA. TSSA is pleased to be able to provide them with the ABCs of Tree Stand Safety and other information about how to use tree stands in a safe and enjoyable manner.”
