Former S3DA Students Win Big at USIAC 3D Championships

Former S3DA students had a huge impact on the United States Intercollegiate 3D Championships held at the Sahara Woods Fish and Wildlife Area in Carrier Mills, Illinois, October 2nd – 4th. The USAIC 3D Championships consist of a Bowhunter, Compound, and Recurve division. Each division held individual Men’s and Women’s, as well as team rounds. 130 shooters from across the nation competed, which was the largest group of shooters to ever compete at the USIAC 3D Championships.

“The way that the S3DA program is set-up, it allows students to make an easier transition from high school to college,” says Kris Strebeck, Head Archery Coach at University of the Cumberlands.

“This allows them to be better prepared and to take what they have learned in S3DA and continue to grow in the sport. When students come out of S3DA, they have been given the education and tools that will help them make the adjustment easier than others. With that being said, I am very proud of how my team competed all weekend with 7 – 1st place, 3 – 2nd place, 4 – 3rd place finishes and the Overall 3D National Championship Team Finish.”
